The Noguera Community Garden
The Noguera Community Garden is a success story for Hollywood. Just seven years ago, it was a blighted empty lot. Today, it is a thriving, attractive garden where Hollywood students attend daily classes and build skills in after-school programs. Participants get hands-on experience in subjects ranging from plant species, the environment and weather to organic gardening and solar energy.
A state-of-the-art weather station was installed in the garden in the spring of 2006. It offers students and residents the opportunity to learn even more about how weather affects plant growth, soil conditions and the environment. Below are some photos from the ceremony.
